Privacy
weatherHouse is a small, independent app. It collects what it needs to remind you about your home, and nothing to sell.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and send the reminders you turn on.
- Your home: its address, the systems it has and their details, the tasks you finish and your notes. On the paid plan, the photos you add.
- The email addresses you invite to share a home.
- If you ask for a one-pager, your email address, on our list for a seasonal checklist a few times a year.
- If you pay, Stripe handles the card. We keep whether your plan is active and when it renews.
Where it goes
- Supabase stores your account and your home and sends the sign-in emails. Vercel runs the app.
- To place your home, the address goes to the US Census Bureau's geocoder and the ZIP code to a public lookup for the hardiness zone. The home's location goes to the National Weather Service for forecasts and warnings, and its county to the US Drought Monitor.
- Resend sends the reminder emails and keeps the one-pager list.
- PostHog counts steps in the app, like how many people finish setting up a home. It runs on our server, not in your browser, and a sign-in request is counted under a scrambled form of the address, never the address itself.
- Sentry records errors so we can fix them, without your name or email address.
- Push reminders go through your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla).
What we do not do
- No ads, and we never sell or rent your data.
- No tracking cookies. One cookie keeps you signed in, and a neighbor's referral link sets one for 30 days.
Your choices
- Every seasonal email to the one-pager list has an unsubscribe link.
- Turn the app's emails and push reminders on or off in Settings, under Notifications.
- On the paid plan, download your task log from Settings.
- To delete your account, email hello@weatherhouse.app from the address you sign in with. We delete the account, its homes and its photos.
